Dear Expectant Parent, 

Hi. We are John and Kayleen. We thank you for taking the time to learn about us and our journey to grow our family.  We hope that we may get to know you and be part of your adoption plan. We have been married for 10 years and knew early on that Kayleen would not be able to get pregnant. We felt that other means like IVF and surrogacy were not avenues we wanted to explore. Adoption was a scary thought at first because we feared getting hurt. It has been extremely hard to see new parents or go to baby showers thinking that it would never be us, but as we continued to feel the need to be parents, we learned more about adoption and felt this would be such a special way to become parents. It has given us hope.

John holds a bachelor’s degree and has been a service manager at the company that his family owns since graduating from college. He works every day with his dad and 2 of his 4 brothers. He loves to be outdoors, especially when it involves spending time at our family lake house, fishing, being on our pontoon, and loves to smoke and grill meats and veggies. Additionally, he is a self-appointed travel agent and is always researching new places to travel to for us and our family and friends. John is also considered to be the “funcle” or fun uncle to our 6 nieces and nephews. He is also a great dog dad to our 2 dogs, Mazie and Peanut.

Kayleen is an ER nurse, who just finished her master’s degree and will be working as a nurse practitioner in a family practice office. She has a knack for telling bad ER stories at the dinner table and not thinking it’s weird. She has a love of water and anything to do with it. Kayleen’s family call her a fish, but she prefers mermaid. She also has a bad reputation for spoiling her nieces and nephews. In her down time, she enjoys reading and shopping and greatly enjoys traveling and experiencing new things.

We have been blessed with a lot in our lives and hope to one day share our blessings with a child. We strongly feel the call to be “mom and dad.” Together, we have so much love to give and have a great family and community of friends who support us in our plan of adoption. We know you have many decisions to make but hope we can be helpful and supportive in your decision.
